"Carat" yesterday and today
The
company was founded in 1972 and has long been known as Lviv Scientific
Research Institute of Materials - the leading organization of the former
USSR Ministry of Radio in the field of electronic materials. Subsequently,
the Institute of Materials into a scientific-production association
"CARAT" and became one of the leading industry research and production
enterprises in the direction of materials science, not only in western
Ukraine, but also the whole country. Since the founding of "Concern-Electron" the enterprise is an integral part. Today,
the Scientific-Production Enterprise "CARAT" - a subsidiary of JSC
"Concern-Electron" and defined the leading scientific institution of the
Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine on questions of scientific and
technical support in the direction of "Materials of Electronic
Technology" (Certificate number 042) and listed in the National Register
of scientific institutions of Ukraine (Certificate № 00 341).
The main direction of scientific and production activity is basic research, technology development of new materials for micro-electronics and their industrial application, as well as developing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the State, inter-sectoral and sectoral programs in the area of electronic materials.
Today, scientists and engineers are SRC "CARAT" concentrate their efforts on finding and developing advanced materials to achieve a breakthrough in the development of national microelectronic technologies, nanotechnologies and technologies, using new or known physical phenomena in solids to create devices of information processing, ie . so-called functional solid-state electronics: Magnetoelectronics; acoustoelectronics, linear and nonlinear optics, acousto-optics and magneto-optical, quantum electronics, sensor technology, etc. Cryoelectronics
Assigned tasks and contribute to modern technological research base, unique equipment, which has no analogues not only in Ukraine but also abroad. Laboratory and Industrial Science and Technology Complex on the cultivation and study of bulk and thin-film single crystals of complex oxides materials listed in the National Register of scientific objects that make up the national property of Ukraine.
