Several years ago, in SRC "Carat" was proposed a new approach to the selection of promising ceramic materials with a negative TCR (temperature coefficient) thermistors for overcurrent protection on the basis of mixed manganites transition metal oxides, quaternary system Cu-Ni-Mn-Co. It was shown that as the initial building blocks for the synthesis of ceramic technology can be seen not only simple oxides of 3d-metals and stoichiometric cubic spinel MnCo2O4, NiMn2O4 and CuMn2O4.

Mixed ceramics (Mn, Cu, Ni, Co) 3O4 with unique physical properties studied intensively the world's leading companies to create high-performance components of modern electronics - temperature sensors, inrush current limiters, etc.

Today, the SRC "Carat" study of alumina-magnesium ceramic MgAl2O4 with a view to identifying new opportunities for its potential applications in electronics, a new generation. Compared with other types of ceramic materials, it has high mechanical strength and chemical resistance to parasitic kontaminatoram (dust, smoke, dust, fumes of alcohol, organic hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, solvents, etc.).
