High technologies for machine building

Field session of the Western Scientific Center Council of Ukrainian
National Academy of Science and Ministry of Education and Science dedicated to
problems of the up-to-date city transport modernization and retrofitting has
been held June 27 at enterprises of the «Electron» Corporation.
The session participants have visited some enterprises of the «Electron» Corporation
where President of Corporation, Academician of Ukrainian Engineering Academy
Yurii Bubes has acquainted with modern technologies for production of electric
transport and special purpose vehicles as well as new innovation developments.
Our Company has been presented by its General Director, Dr. Engineering Mykola
Vakiv.
The Council members of the Western Scientific Center of Ukrainian
National Academy of Science and Ministry of Education and Science have emphasized
actuality and importance of developments of the Corporation companies and
recommended to continue exploratory and start-adjusting works in this area. In
particular, it is planning to work out together with Western Scientific Center
a draft of special program for production of trams, trolleybuses electrobuses,
bus set-unified systems, ambulances, vehicles for city special and community
services.
Scientists have assigned a deserving place in this program to new
high-tech directions – creation of new generation energy storage systems (accumulators
and supercapacitors). As speakers emphasized to realize these projects the «Electron» Corporation
possesses considerable scientific and productive potential particularly at SRC «Carat» where industrial
production of electronic materials is successfully developing. The Company
collaborates closely with scientific institutions especially «Lviv Politechnic» National
University, Ivan Franko National University, Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute
of the NAS of Ukraine, etc.
As result of the Council field session it has been taken resolution
according to which the Western Scientific Center will appeal to regional and
city Councils of western region with petition concerning necessity to work out
programs for modernization and retrofit of modern city transportation involving
domestic manufacturers.
